Why did we create this product?

In personal care and cosmetics, face washes and body cleansers often contain exfoliating beads that help remove dirt and dead skin cells.

But many of these exfoliants are plastic microbeads, which cause irreversible harm to marine ecosystems. Plastic microbeads do not biodegrade, photodegrade, or thermally degrade — their half-life can span hundreds of years.
